Once every decade an amazing opportunity comes along in the world of Paso Fino horses – Greener Pastures Ranch holds an auction!

This year’s auction has been opened up to some of today’s most respected and long standing breeders and trainers in the Paso Fino world. Teaming up with Greener Pastures to co-sponsor the auction is Windy Ridge Farm, South Alabama’s new, electrifying and selective breeder of Paso Fino horses. We have also consigned over 20 horses from a few other breeders you know and trust to make sure this auction will have THE horses YOU are looking for. We are pleased to announce that Mr. Alan Parker, one of the most experienced and respected auctioneers in the equine business, will be assisting us with our event.

In keeping with Greener Pasture’s philosophy of standing behind their product and “the sale doesn’t end when you buy the horse;” we have added a special feature to our weekend. On Sunday, February 28, professional trainers Robin Ratliff, Charlie and Milda Minter, and Betsy McHugh will be hosting a FREE CLINIC for all auction attendees. If you are interested in learning to enjoy your new Paso(s) don’t miss out on the 2nd exciting event. Our happiness comes from you being happy with your horse.

Please note – we are NOT “culling” our herds (selling undesirable horses). We have carefully chosen and put together a wide assortment of our BEST and most athletically and aesthetically superior horses for you to choose from. At our auction, you could buy five horses, set up your own breeding business and not have to buy another horse for the rest of your life – the diversity is just that good! From finished Fino, Performance, Pleasure, trained and tractable trail horses, breeding stock aimed at bloodlines or color, timed events, weanlings, pasture pets or parade – we’ve got THE horse for you! Come let us do what we have done for hundreds of people – find your perfect fit!

Thank you for your interest in our horses and auction, we look forward to seeing you on February 27, 2010 at Greener Pastures Ranch!

Good morning potential Team USA members,
As many of you know, this past weekend the PFHA Membership meeting was held in Las Vegas. During this meeting, a motion was brought forth and passed by the Board of Directors that directly affects Team USA. That motion stated:

Motion: Cindy Griffeth moved and Alex Amador Seconded:
To direct the CONFEPASO Chairman to work with the Youth Committee and the Youth Mundial coaches so that the selection process for the 2010 Youth Mundial will also include the opportunity to submit a video without attending one of the scheduled trials. All interested youth should be provided with all patterns, rules and other requirements by March 1, 2010 with all video applications be submitted by March 31, 2010. All information concerning the selection process, including the above mentioned requirements must be submitted electronically to the Regional presidents and to the membership via PFHA Enews. Videos that have already been submitted do not need to be resubmitted. Motion passed.Head Coach- Team

As Team USA coaches had no prior knowledge to this Board action, we wanted to thank all that have complied to Team USA requirements by sending in a resume and attending an official try-out by the dates set by Team USA.
However, according to the motion, Team USA selections have been delayed until after the March 31, 2010 deadline.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at rickmeyer@charter.net or (314) 520-5707.

PFHA Headquarters Relocating to United States Equestrian Federation Facility in Lexington, KY

Filed under: GTV - Headlines News / Ultima Hora —galopandotv @ 8:51 pm

pfhalogo72January 15, 2010 - The Board of Directors of the Paso Fino Horse Association, at its Annual Membership and Board Meeting being held at the South Point Hotel & Casino, today approved the relocation of its headquarters and outsource selected administrative functions to the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) headquarters facility in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Paso Fino Horse Association was founded in 1972 and has been located in Plant City, Florida since 1995. The Board represents a membership of 5800 individuals located throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, England, Ireland, United Kingdom, Austria, France, Sweden, Germany, Mexico, Canada, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Aruba, Dominican Republic and New Zealand. PFHA has been a breed affiliate of USEF since 1978.
The Paso Fino Horse Association will retain its individual name, identity and ownership and will continue to promote its Spanish heritage. The relocation will permit PFHA to better direct its efforts at promoting the Paso Fino breed and its sport. The transition of the office to Lexington is expected to take approximately four months and will involve the efforts of current staff members, volunteers of the association and members of the USEF transition team.
In appreciation of our dedicated staff, the Board passed the following resolution:
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of PFHA, wishes to recognize the outstanding contributions of the PFHA staff, and we thank Mary Emmons and our staff for their time, energy and commitment to PFHA.
     “
We are excited at becoming a part of the Kentucky Horse Park and the larger horse industry which is represented in Lexington,” says President, Ed Smith. “Our membership is excited about the synergies we share with USEF and the technology and resources that will become available to us by this move, allowing us to channel resources back into marketing, promoting the Paso Fino, and improved service to our membership. “
A presentation by USEF IT Director, Justin Provost, and Customer Care Director, Theresa Stephens-Carroll provided a virtual tour of the Lexington facility and provided the Board with an understanding of the member services, IT, registration, accounting and customer care center activities offered by USEF.
The Board of Directors comprised of its officers and twenty-three Regional Delegates see this as a positive and strategic decision to position PFHA for its further and continued growth in the new decade.
